Will I lose my Google rankings?
Done properly, no. Done badly, yes. The whole game is the redirect map. Every old URL needs to point at its new equivalent with a 301 redirect, and the schema, internal linking and content depth need to carry over too. We've migrated dozens of sites without ranking loss and we'll show you the Search Console screenshots if you want.
How long does a migration take?
Brochure site under 50 pages: 4-6 weeks. Larger content site: 6-10 weeks. Ecommerce migration with full product/customer/order data: 8-16 weeks. We always do a discovery audit first so the timeline's accurate before any contracts get signed.
What about ecommerce data: orders, customers, subscriptions?
All carries over. Customer accounts (with reset prompt for security), order history, subscription state, abandoned carts, wishlists. We'll keep both stores live in parallel during testing so customers don't lose access.
Will the site be down during migration?
No. The new site is built in parallel on a staging environment. DNS switchover takes minutes and we time it for the quietest period for your traffic. Most clients see no measurable downtime.
Should I migrate or rebuild?
Migration usually means like-for-like move. Rebuild means new design plus platform change. We'll often do both at once because if you're going through migration anyway, the marginal cost of design refresh is low. We'll tell you honestly which makes sense.
Can you migrate from Elementor without rebuilding the design?
Yes, but it's not really a 'migration' so much as a rebuild that looks the same. Elementor pages can't be exported as clean HTML; we'll rebuild them in proper PHP templates with the same layout. Faster, lighter, easier to maintain. Same look, very different under the hood.
