Magento & Adobe Commerce builds for serious ecommerce

Enterprise-grade Magento builds for stores with complex catalogues, B2B requirements, or six-figure-plus monthly revenue. Hyvä themes, custom modules, ERP integration.

A few of the many businesses we've worked with, big and small

Why Magento, done properly

Magento isn't for everyone. It's for stores that have outgrown Shopify or WooCommerce, stores with thousands of SKUs, complex tax and pricing rules, B2B alongside B2C, or international operations. When you need that level of capability, Magento is unmatched.

Built for scale

Hundreds of thousands of SKUs, multi-store, multi-warehouse, complex pricing. Magento eats it for breakfast.

Hyvä-fast performance

Hyvä themes ditch Magento's legacy front-end. Result: 90+ Lighthouse scores on demanding catalogues.

B2B and B2C in one

Customer-specific catalogues, trade pricing, credit accounts, bulk ordering. Native Magento, no plugin patchwork.

 development work in progress

Why Magento, and when

Magento is overkill for most SMEs. We’ll tell you that on the discovery call. If your store turns over under £100k a month, has a few hundred SKUs, and serves a single market, you’re better off on Shopify or WooCommerce.

Magento makes sense at the next level. Complex product configurations. Multi-store, multi-currency, multi-language. ERP integration with Sage, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics. Full B2B alongside B2C. Stores doing high six and seven figures monthly. That’s where Magento earns its complexity.

We build with Hyvä themes for a reason. The default Magento Luma theme is slow. Hyvä rebuilds the front-end on TailwindCSS and Alpine.js, drops the legacy JavaScript bloat, and produces stores that load in under two seconds even with thousands of products.

Frequently asked questions

Should I be on Adobe Commerce or Magento Open Source?

Open Source is free and capable. Adobe Commerce adds B2B features, advanced reporting, AI-driven product recommendations, and Adobe support. The licence costs five figures a year. For most stores under £5m turnover, Open Source is the right call. Above that, the Adobe features start earning their fee.

Why Hyvä instead of standard Luma themes?

Luma is slow. The default Magento front-end carries 20+ years of legacy code. Hyvä rebuilds it on Tailwind and Alpine.js, drops the legacy JS, and typically delivers 3-5x better performance. Hyvä is now the de facto standard for serious Magento builds.

How long does a Magento build take?

Standard catalogue migration plus theme build: 3-6 months. Complex B2B with ERP integration: 6-12 months. We always do a discovery phase first so timelines are realistic before any contracts are signed.

Do you do Magento 1 to 2 migrations?

Yes, but rarely. Magento 1 has been end-of-life since 2020. Anyone still on M1 should be migrating immediately for security reasons. We’ll help you plan the cutover and rebuild on a modern Hyvä-themed Magento 2 store.

Can Magento do subscription products?

Yes, with extensions. Adobe Commerce has native subscriptions. Open Source uses extensions like Aheadworks Subscriptions or Magmodules. We’ve implemented both.

How does Magento hosting work?

Magento needs proper hosting. Not £5/month shared hosting. Either Adobe Commerce Cloud (managed by Adobe) or specialist Magento hosting (Sonassi, MageMojo, JetRails). Hosting cost typically starts at £200-500/month for serious stores.

Meet the agency

The team building your Magento site

Cheshire Cat Marketing is Rhiannon and Darren. We started in 2016 because we'd seen too many small businesses burn through agency budgets and end up with a slow site and a stack of invoices.

We build Magento properly, by hand. You deal with a senior person who's actually doing the work, not an account manager relaying messages from a separate team.

  • Five-star rated, every review 54 reviews across Google and Facebook. Not one of them below five stars.

I just want to say, the guys over at Cheshire Cat Marketing are amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of people to constantly be in contact with. Whether it was checking up on me and my business or being open to listening to my ever changing ideas! Everything in between too! I would recommend them to anyone wanting, social media or anything marketing wise for your business!

I’ve just phoned and spoken to Rhi, who has been absolutely incredible! I phoned to cheekily ask for some advice, as I am fundraising for a charity event. She was incredible, offering advice, guidance and ideas. The support was truly incredible and has allowed me now to hopefully generate more publicity and support for the event I am supporting.I am in awe of her friendly disposition and her generosity of her experience. Her entire demeanour was approachable and supportive and offered a true unique perspective, whilst being situational and economically aware. So pleased, and touched to have had such a wonderful and postive interaction and would encourage anyone to use their services again.

The Cheshire Cat team are fantastic. They really care about understanding your business and doing a great job. Each time they send me some posts to approve I'm always thrilled with the results - and with 20+ years marketing experience, I'm not an easy person to please! We've seen our followers steadily grow whilst we've been working with them - recommended!
