I just want to say, the guys over at Cheshire Cat Marketing are amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of people to constantly be in contact with. Whether it was checking up on me and my business or being open to listening to my ever changing ideas! Everything in between too! I would recommend them to anyone wanting, social media or anything marketing wise for your business!
Marketing for hospitality that fills the diary
Hotels, restaurants, pubs, B&Bs, holiday cottages, experience providers. Direct bookings, repeat visits, off-season strategy. Less reliance on Booking.com.
A few of the many businesses we've worked with, big and small
The marketing problems we see in hospitality & tourism
Same patterns turn up over and over. If any of these sound familiar, you're in the right place.
01. Booking.com takes 18% of every booking
Commissions to the booking sites eat into your margin. We rebuild the direct-booking funnel so guests book through your own website instead.
02. Quiet midweek, packed weekends
Most hospitality businesses have demand peaks and troughs. Smart email marketing and targeted ads fill the quiet periods.
03. No system for repeat bookings
Past guests are your highest-converting audience. Without an email list and proper segmentation, you're starting from scratch each time.
04. International guests can't book in their language
If you serve international visitors and your website is English-only, you're losing bookings. Especially relevant for Lake District, Cotswolds, Lakes & Highlands properties.
Marketing for hospitality & tourism: what we know
Hospitality sits in our top three sectors. Hotels, restaurants, pubs, holiday lets, wedding venues, experience providers. The marketing problems are similar: too much reliance on online travel agents (the Booking.coms and Expedias of the world), weak direct bookings, off-season slumps. We rebuild the direct-booking funnel and reduce dependency on third-party platforms.

What actually works for hospitality & tourism
The marketing tactics with the highest payback for businesses in your industry.
Direct booking funnel
A website built around the booking journey. Real-time availability, clear pricing, fewer people bouncing off to the booking sites.
Email marketing for repeat guests
Past guests booked you once for a reason. Win them back with seasonal offers, midweek specials, loyalty programmes.
International marketing in native English
If your target market includes US, EU or Asian visitors, English copy that reads natively beats translated marketing every time.

216% growth in followers for a Cheshire Events Venue
Reactivated and transformed the social presence of Vale Royal Abbey, a historic wedding and events venue in Cheshire. Identified that mixed golf and events messaging was diluting the brand, recommended splitting the channels, and rebuilt the strategy around weddings, events, afternoon tea, and heritage storytelling. 125,000 unique views, engagement up 181.58%, new followers up 216% - all organic.

Should I drop the booking sites immediately?
No. Online travel agents like Booking.com and Expedia are good for visibility and reaching new people. The goal is to reduce how much you depend on them, not cut them out. Most hospitality businesses that get this right take 50-70% of bookings directly and leave the rest to the booking sites.
Do I need a booking system?
Depends on your size. Small B&Bs can use a simple form plus a calendar. Mid-size hotels and restaurants need a property management system (Cloudbeds, Mews, RoomRaccoon) integrated with the website. We’ll recommend based on your scale.
How important is photography for hospitality marketing?
Critical. The single biggest difference between a hospitality site that books and one that doesn’t is photography quality. We’ll either organise a content day or give you some tips so you can shoot decent imagery yourself with a phone-only kit.
Can you help with international guests?
Yes. We have specific experience with English-language marketing for international audiences. Particularly in Finnish, Swedish, Estonian, French, Italian and Spanish hospitality serving international visitors. Our Head of Technical, Darren, who is also our founder’s husband, has Finnish dual citizenship, and our Finnish family connections are useful.

The people behind your marketing
We're a boutique, women-led agency in Cheshire, running since 2016. We started because we'd seen too many small businesses burn through agency budgets and end up with a slow site and a stack of invoices.
Hospitality & tourism is one of the sectors we know best. You deal with a senior person who stays on the work start to finish, not an account manager passing messages along.
- Five-star rated, every review 54 reviews across Google and Facebook. Not one of them below five stars.
- Award-winning Shortlisted more times than we can neatly list, and we've taken a good few home.
- Everything done in-house No freelancers, no white-label, nobody you've never met touching your account.
- Outspoken, honest support We'll tell you when something won't work, even when it'd be easier to take the money.
What our clients say
Real reviews from real clients. No filtering, no pay-to-play.
I’ve just phoned and spoken to Rhi, who has been absolutely incredible! I phoned to cheekily ask for some advice, as I am fundraising for a charity event. She was incredible, offering advice, guidance and ideas. The support was truly incredible and has allowed me now to hopefully generate more publicity and support for the event I am supporting.I am in awe of her friendly disposition and her generosity of her experience. Her entire demeanour was approachable and supportive and offered a true unique perspective, whilst being situational and economically aware. So pleased, and touched to have had such a wonderful and postive interaction and would encourage anyone to use their services again.
The Cheshire Cat team are fantastic. They really care about understanding your business and doing a great job. Each time they send me some posts to approve I'm always thrilled with the results - and with 20+ years marketing experience, I'm not an easy person to please! We've seen our followers steadily grow whilst we've been working with them - recommended!
