Conversion Rate Optimisation agency

More enquiries from the visitors you already have

A thousand people visit, ten get in touch, and nobody can say where the other nine hundred and ninety went. We find out, fix what we find, and measure the difference in enquiries rather than in traffic.

What you'll actually get

Conversion rate optimisation is the unglamorous half of marketing. Getting people to a site costs money every month. Getting more of the people already there to get in touch costs it once. Start there.

Diagnosed before anything is touched

Analytics, Search Console, the form logs and the phone. Where people land, where they stall, which pages they leave from. You get that written down before we suggest a change.

Measured in enquiries, not traffic

Calls, forms and bookings are the result; visits are what you paid for to get them. We set the tracking so the report counts the first kind, before we start and after we finish.

Fixed by the people who built it

Most of what leaks enquiries is a form that asks too much, a page that loads slowly on a phone, or a call to action that nobody can find. We change the site ourselves. No handover to a developer who has never seen it.

Conversion Rate Optimisation work in progress at Cheshire Cat Marketing

The cheapest enquiry you will ever get is from someone already on your site

Search, adverts and social all cost money to send people to a page. If that page turns one visitor in a hundred into an enquiry, every channel is paying for the other ninety-nine to leave.

Move that to two in a hundred and every channel you run has just doubled its return, without spending another pound on any of them. That is why this comes before more traffic, not after it.

On one WooCommerce store we rebuilt, the conversion rate went up 3.2 times. Some of that was speed, some was the checkout, some was the pages saying the right thing in the right order. None of it was more visitors.

Real numbers from real clients. Names redacted because not everyone wants their growth strategy public.

75% Less page weight on the same site

What we look at

In this order. The first two usually find the problem; the rest is making sure.

Where people leave

Which pages they arrive on, how far they get, and which page they were on when they gave up. Analytics answers this if the tracking is set up properly, and it often is not.

Forms and the phone

How many fields, which ones are required, what happens after submit, whether the number is a link on a phone. The single most common leak, and the cheapest to fix.

The first screen

What a visitor sees before they scroll. Whether it says what you do, who for, and what to do next. Most pages say something warm and nothing specific.

Speed on a phone

Every second of load on a mobile costs enquiries. We build to under 2.5 seconds and we can usually get an existing site most of the way there.

Landing pages for what you advertise

An advert that lands on the homepage is asking the visitor to find the offer themselves. A page per offer, saying the thing the advert promised, converts several times better.

Checkout, for shops

Guest checkout, the number of steps, delivery costs shown early, payment options people in Britain actually use. Where an online shop loses most of its sales.

Frequently asked questions

If we haven't covered it, just ask. The chat tab in the corner gets straight through to a real person.

Do you need to rebuild the site to do this?

Usually not. Most of the work is changes to what is already there: a form, a page, the order of things, the tracking. If the site is slow because of how it was built, we will tell you that early, and you can decide whether to fix the build or work around it.

How do you know it worked?

Because we count enquiries before we start and after we finish, over the same length of time, from the same channels. Calls, forms and bookings, not visits. If the number did not move, you will see that too.

Do you run A/B tests?

Only where there is enough traffic for a test to mean anything, which on most small business sites there is not. Below that, a test just tells you what random looks like. We make the change, measure it against the period before, and say what we found.

Can you work on a site you didn't build?

Yes. WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and Magento. If it is on a builder that will not let us change what needs changing, we will say so on the first call rather than three weeks in.

Is this the same as SEO?

No. SEO brings people to the site. This is what happens once they are there. They feed each other: a page that converts well is a page people stay on, and search engines notice that too. But they are different jobs and we price them separately.

What does it cost?

A review first, as a one-off, so you know where the leaks are before you pay to fix any. Then the fixes, quoted from the review. Ask and you get a figure on the call, not a range.

I just want to say, the guys over at Cheshire Cat Marketing are amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of people to constantly be in contact with. Whether it was checking up on me and my business or being open to listening to my ever changing ideas! Everything in between too! I would recommend them to anyone wanting, social media or anything marketing wise for your business!

I’ve just phoned and spoken to Rhi, who has been absolutely incredible! I phoned to cheekily ask for some advice, as I am fundraising for a charity event. She was incredible, offering advice, guidance and ideas. The support was truly incredible and has allowed me now to hopefully generate more publicity and support for the event I am supporting.I am in awe of her friendly disposition and her generosity of her experience. Her entire demeanour was approachable and supportive and offered a true unique perspective, whilst being situational and economically aware. So pleased, and touched to have had such a wonderful and postive interaction and would encourage anyone to use their services again.

The Cheshire Cat team are fantastic. They really care about understanding your business and doing a great job. Each time they send me some posts to approve I'm always thrilled with the results - and with 20+ years marketing experience, I'm not an easy person to please! We've seen our followers steadily grow whilst we've been working with them - recommended!
