For UK small businesses

Small business marketing agency, made in Cheshire

We're a women-led marketing agency in Cheshire that's been working with UK small businesses since 2016. Five-star rated, no long contracts, no jargon. We do the work properly so you can get on with running your business.

Marketing for small businesses, done properly

If you're running a small business, you've probably tried agencies before. Account managers who churn. Junior teams doing the work. Endless reports nobody reads. We do it differently. One small Cheshire team. Same person from pitch to delivery. Real results, not vanity metrics.

You don't have time to learn marketing

Running a business is already a full-time job. You shouldn't need to become an SEO expert or a Google Ads specialist on top of it. Hand it over to people who already are.

You've been burned by agencies before

Long contracts. Junior account managers. Glossy reports that say nothing. Marketing budget burned on the wrong things. We don't work like that.

You can't afford a full marketing team

An in-house marketing manager costs around 35,000 to 50,000 a year. Plus pension, training, holiday cover. With us, you get a whole team's worth of skills for a fraction of that. No headcount.

You want to know your money's working

No vanity metrics. We report on what matters. Leads, sales, revenue, ranking positions for the keywords that actually bring you business.

Meet the agency

The people behind your marketing

Cheshire Cat Marketing is Rhiannon and Darren. We started in 2016 because we'd seen too many small businesses burn through agency budgets and end up with a slow site and a stack of invoices.

Small businesses are who we're built for. You deal with a senior person who stays on the work start to finish, not an account manager relaying messages from a separate team.

  • Five-star rated, every review 54 reviews across Google and Facebook. Not one of them below five stars.
  • Award-winning Shortlisted more times than we can neatly list, and we've taken a good few home.
  • Everything done in-house No freelancers, no white-label, nobody you've never met touching your account.
  • Outspoken, honest support We'll tell you when something won't work, even when it'd be easier to take the money.

How to judge a small business marketing agency

Including us. Five questions worth asking anyone you're considering, and what a straight answer sounds like.

  1. Who actually does the work?

Ask for the name of the person who'll write your copy and run your ads. If the answer is a team, a pod or a department, you'll be speaking to an account manager and someone you've never met will be doing the work.

  2. What's in the price, and what isn't?

Get the extras in writing. Content, audits, backlink work and ad management are the four things most often quoted separately after you've agreed a monthly fee. A headline price means nothing until you know what sits outside it.

  3. What happens if I want to leave?

A twelve-month tie-in is a bet on you being unable to walk away. A month's notice is a bet on the work being good enough that you won't want to. Ask which bet they're making.

  4. Can you explain that without the jargon?

Pick one thing in their proposal you don't understand and ask them to explain it plainly. If they can't, they either don't understand it themselves or would rather you couldn't check.

  5. What if it's not working in six months?

Everyone has campaigns that don't land. The difference is whether they've thought about it. A good answer describes what they'd change and when they'd tell you. A bad one says it won't happen.

When we're not the right fit

  • You want the cheapest quote. There's always someone cheaper, and usually a reason.
  • You want someone to do exactly as they're told. We'll say so when we think something won't work, and that's the bit clients tell us they value.
  • You need a twenty-person team on it. We are deliberately small, and there are jobs that need more people than we have.
  • You need results by next week. Paid ads can move quickly; search and content take months.

I just want to say, the guys over at Cheshire Cat Marketing are amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of people to constantly be in contact with. Whether it was checking up on me and my business or being open to listening to my ever changing ideas! Everything in between too! I would recommend them to anyone wanting, social media or anything marketing wise for your business!

I’ve just phoned and spoken to Rhi, who has been absolutely incredible! I phoned to cheekily ask for some advice, as I am fundraising for a charity event. She was incredible, offering advice, guidance and ideas. The support was truly incredible and has allowed me now to hopefully generate more publicity and support for the event I am supporting.I am in awe of her friendly disposition and her generosity of her experience. Her entire demeanour was approachable and supportive and offered a true unique perspective, whilst being situational and economically aware. So pleased, and touched to have had such a wonderful and postive interaction and would encourage anyone to use their services again.

The Cheshire Cat team are fantastic. They really care about understanding your business and doing a great job. Each time they send me some posts to approve I'm always thrilled with the results - and with 20+ years marketing experience, I'm not an easy person to please! We've seen our followers steadily grow whilst we've been working with them - recommended!
