Websites for GP practices left offline by Silicon Practice

If your practice website went down in the Silicon Practice administration, we'll get your opening hours and contact details back up first, then build you a website your practice owns. We're a woman-led, family-run agency in Cheshire, and we've built and looked after public sector websites since 2016.

A few of the many businesses we've worked with, big and small

Rhiannon Birch, founder of Cheshire Cat Marketing

Getting your practice back online

Silicon Practice ran websites, online consultation forms and chatbots for hundreds of GP practices. When it went into administration in October 2026, many of those websites stopped working with little or no warning, and patients were told to phone or call in instead.

That lands on your reception team when they’re already stretched. We can take the website off your list: a holding page first, so patients can find your hours and number, then a new website planned around your practice.

Book a 20-minute call
  • A free 20-minute call

We'll go through what's offline, what your patients most need to find and anything your ICB has asked of you. You'll come away knowing what happens next and what it costs.

  • A holding page, free with your new website

One page with your opening hours, phone number and address, and links to NHS 111 and the NHS App. We'll have it live within 24 hours, depending on how quickly NHS England's IT team makes the change to your web address. It's free when you commission your new website from us.

  • A new website built around your practice

Planned with you around what patients come for, built and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA, and UK GDPR-aware. From £1,850 + VAT, then looked after from £45 + VAT a month.

The Kiltearn Medical Centre website open on a laptop

A new brand and website for Kiltearn Medical Centre

Kiltearn is a GP practice in Nantwich. We rebranded the practice, built its new website and still look after it: text and image updates, compliance checks and the technical side. Before launch in June 2026 we scored the site against NHS England's GP website benchmark.

  • 46 of 50 benchmark criteria rated well, and none rated inadequate
  • 33 of 34 contractual items in place, with the last waiting on the practice

Built to NHS England's guide for GP websites

NHS England publishes a step-by-step guide to practice websites. These are the parts of it we build in from the start.

  • Pages for what patients come for

Appointments, repeat prescriptions, test results, fit notes and registering each get a page of their own, in plain English. The guide aims for a reading age of 9 to 11, and we write to it.

  • Online consultation and the NHS App up front

Links to whichever online consultation tool you move to, and to the NHS App, go where patients look first. If you change tool later, we change the links.

  • Accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA

Built and tested to it. That includes everything in WCAG 2.1 AA and the newer checks on top, so patients using a screen reader, a keyboard or zoom can still get through.

  • Your address and your content stay yours

Your nhs.uk address stays with your practice. Once the build is paid for, the website and everything on it belong to you under our terms, so if you ever move on, you take it with you.

Rhiannon and Darren Birch, founders of Cheshire Cat Marketing

Who you'll work with

Cheshire Cat Marketing is a woman-led, family-run agency in Moulton, near Northwich, and we've been running since 2016. Rhiannon runs it day to day and Darren leads the build side.

As well as Kiltearn, we've worked with NHS bodies, a council and a fire and rescue service, so we know how sign-off works in the public sector and what the accessibility rules ask of a website.

  • A real person to call Ring us and you'll talk to someone who knows your site.
  • Everything done in-house We don't use freelancers or white-label work, so nobody you haven't met works on your site.
  • NHS identity rules followed We know the NHS identity guidelines and build practice websites that keep to them.
  • Rated 5.0 on Google From 42 reviews by our clients.

Frequently asked questions

If we haven't covered it, just ask. The chat tab in the corner gets straight through to a real person.

Will our nhs.uk address still work?

It can. Moving your nhs.uk address to a new website is a change NHS England’s IT team makes when your practice asks for it. We’ll prepare the request with you and have the new site ready for the moment it goes through. How long that takes depends on how quickly they respond.

Can you bring back what was on our old site?

If the old site has gone, we’ll work from whatever you can find: leaflets, policies, documents on your shared drive and copies of old pages kept in public web archives. Most of what a practice website says is information you already hold somewhere.

Do you supply online consultation software?

No. We build and look after websites. Whichever online consultation tool you move to, often one your ICB suggests, we’ll link to it from the right places on your new site and change the links if you switch again.

How long does a full website take?

Mostly it depends on how quickly the content can be gathered and signed off. NHS England’s own guide suggests planning six to eight weeks to move to a new site and go live. Your holding page covers patients in the meantime.

Is there a contract?

There’s a written agreement. The website is a one-off project with a written quote. The monthly plan runs for the first term we agree with you, then month to month, and either side can end it with 30 days’ notice. It’s all in our terms.

Who owns the website?

Your practice does. Once the build is paid for, the website and everything on it are yours under our terms, and your nhs.uk address stays with your practice throughout. If you ever move on, you take it with you.

Can our team update it themselves?

Yes, if you’d like to. Every page can be edited in WordPress. Or send us the change and we’ll make it: text and image updates are part of the monthly plan.

I just want to say, the guys over at Cheshire Cat Marketing are amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of people to constantly be in contact with. Whether it was checking up on me and my business or being open to listening to my ever changing ideas! Everything in between too! I would recommend them to anyone wanting, social media or anything marketing wise for your business!

I’ve just phoned and spoken to Rhi, who has been absolutely incredible! I phoned to cheekily ask for some advice, as I am fundraising for a charity event. She was incredible, offering advice, guidance and ideas. The support was truly incredible and has allowed me now to hopefully generate more publicity and support for the event I am supporting.I am in awe of her friendly disposition and her generosity of her experience. Her entire demeanour was approachable and supportive and offered a true unique perspective, whilst being situational and economically aware. So pleased, and touched to have had such a wonderful and postive interaction and would encourage anyone to use their services again.

The Cheshire Cat team are fantastic. They really care about understanding your business and doing a great job. Each time they send me some posts to approve I'm always thrilled with the results - and with 20+ years marketing experience, I'm not an easy person to please! We've seen our followers steadily grow whilst we've been working with them - recommended!
